The city of Venice, which is famous for its islands, gondola rides, shopping, walks, delectable cuisine, and beautiful scenery, is one location that should be at the top of your list of places to visit in Italy. 

There is a wealth of history and stunning architecture around every corner, both of which have the ability to steal your breath in an instant.

I’m in love with Venice. In my view, even if you’re not a fan of crowds, this is a site you should see at least once in your life. 

As a result of its popularity, a large number of visitors visit the area each year. Venice, in my opinion, is a place of enchantment. It’s a city unlike any other. 

They moan about Venice being overcrowded, overpriced, and full of tourists. 

Although all of these things are true, the city’s beauty, the way it’s set up with canals and surrounded by water on all sides, the stunning architecture, the often aristocratic and elegant but deteriorating buildings, and the city’s stunning canals and surrounded by water are all reasons why it’s unique in the world.

1.Best times to VISIT Venice

If you choose to follow this Travel tips for Venice, I can assure you that you will have a wonderful time whenever you want to do so. 

On the other hand, if you want to avoid the crowds of other visitors, it won’t be hard for you to make the most of your time in Venice during the course of two days!

The summer season is by far the busiest period for tourists to visit Venice. 

The weather is normally pleasant, but there are days when it is excruciatingly hot. 

On top of that, hotel rates soar since owners understand that a large number of people will be travelling during this period.

If you want to escape the enormous tourist crowds and you don’t want to pay big bucks for your lodging, you should choose to travel at a different time so that you can save money and have an experience that will be more memorable for you!

Shoulder seasons, such as spring and fall, are perhaps the ideal times to visit Venice because less tourists are there. When compared to the temperatures experienced throughout the winter and summer months, these seasons include temperatures that are more agreeable. 

When you travel during the shoulder seasons, not only will you get to enjoy pleasant weather, but you will also save money on lodging and find that there are less people around.

You should aim to plan your two days in Venice during the winter months if you want to see the city during the off-season in its entirety. 

Due of the much lower temperatures, hardly no one comes to visit during this time of year. 

On the other hand, because this time of year is not a very busy one in Venice, the costs of both lodging and transportation are incredibly inexpensive.

2.How to reach Venice City from Airport

There are a variety of transportation options available to you, which is fortunate given that Venice is such a popular tourist destination in Italy.

Flying to Venice is by far the most common and convenient mode of transportation. 

The city of Venice is served by its very own airport, which goes by the name Marco Polo Venice Airport and is situated on the mainland. 

If you’re lucky, you can also get reasonably priced flights to this airport departing from within Europe. 

In order to reach the islands from the airport, you will need to either take a bus, a vehicle, or a gondola.

Taking the train is an additional simple mode of transportation that can bring you to Venice. Because there is a railway station situated right on the Venetian islands, using the train is a far more convenient option than flying there. 

Just be sure to get out at the Santa Lucia Rail Station when you get there by train. At the very conclusion of the train excursion, you will be treated to breathtaking panoramas of the water!

3.Where to stay in Venice

Despite the fact that Venice is comprised of six distinct neighbourhoods known as sestieri, you won’t have any trouble finding a place to call home for the next two days. 

Cannaregio is by far the most desirable neighbourhood to stay in while in Venice due to its convenient location close to both the train station and several of the city’s most famous attractions.

Because it is the location of some of Venice’s most famous sights, San Marco is another popular district for travellers to stay in while visiting the city. Find a place to stay in the Santa Croce neighbourhood if you’d want to be in a location that’s closer to the Grand Canal.

4.Choosing the finest gelato

Authentic fruit gelato is usually superior than gelato that is flavoured with synthetic ingredients. 

The best way to tell which gelato is the greatest is to look at the colour. It’s likely created with artificial flavouring if the gelato is highly coloured (think lime green for pistachio, or hot pink for strawberry).

There is a higher probability that the food will be authentic, fresh, and delectable if it is a more subdued colour.

There’s no need to mention that you’ll save money and get nicer gelato if you hunt for gelato shops on side streets rather than in the big tourist zones.

5.Take care while purchasing masks  Carnevale.

The Carnevale mask is one of Venice’s most popular souvenirs, and you may buy one for yourself.

Masks are on sale almost wherever you go in a souvenir shop. 

Whether you want to avoid paying too much for a knockoff, look inside the store to see if someone is producing the masks.

Inside the business, Carnevale masks are produced to order. A shop that doesn’t have any masks being made is presumably selling mass-produced ones. The San Polo area of Venice is the finest spot to find real masks.

6.You’ll certainly Get lost!

A native Venice tour guide’s number one piece of advice for our family was to wander aimlessly across the city. 

Once you go away from the commotion and throngs that are common in tourist sites such as St. Mark’s Square and the Rialto Bridge, you will get the impression that you are in an entirely other city.

Put in some miles on foot without consulting any maps during your excursion. 

Cannaregio is one of my favourite areas to just roam around in, and I highly recommend it. 

This peaceful area is situated on the northern side of Venice, and it exudes a more local and less touristic atmosphere than the rest of the city. 

It is the ideal location for taking a leisurely stroll while the sun is setting and stopping for supper along one of the canals at some point.

This is also the place where we have stayed during each of our previous visits to Venice. 

We stayed in the Gritti Palace , and anyone who is going to Venice and is looking for an experience that is completely one of a kind should consider staying there as well.

7.The best way to view Venice, Italy, is to ride a boat.

So, The Gondola Ride … there you have it. If you’re going to Venice, you have to take a water-based mode of transportation while you’re there.

You do this after the break fast in the morning… Go for a ride around 9Am -10 Am ish in the morning. Private taxis are On 24/7. 

This is a great place to go if you’re travelling with your significant other and your notion of heaven is to float around the back canals of Venice with just the two of you, enjoying a glass of wine and some cushions while a chiselled guy sings you a song. 

Two-euro gondola ride, can you believe it?

You may ride a gondola for just two euros instead of 80 or 100 euros.

How could that happen? Gondola the Grand Canal. 

The traghetto isn’t elegant, and the ride just takes a minute or two, but it’s enough time to snap a snapshot and see the Grand Canal from a gondola.

The most dependable traghetto dock is at the Rialto fish market. 

Every day from 9 AM to 7 PM, this 2-euro gondola spans the Grand Canal

The Gritti Palace  is without a doubt the most extraordinary hotel I have ever seen; as I’ve already indicated, I consider it to be among the very greatest in the entire world.

The Grand Hotel dei Dogi is the most opulent hotel in the area. (I have never actually stayed here, but adding it to my list of things to do is a must! 

This is without a doubt the most opulent hotel in all of Venice, and it boasts an excellent location.

Most Convenient: AC Hotel Venezia (we came for just one night and found it to be quite enjoyable. 

Because it is in such close proximity to both the train station and the cruise port, its location is highly handy.)

The best hotel for the money is the Hotel Olimpia (we  haven’t stayed here either, but based on the ratings, it seems like a good choice).

8.Stay on the island,Not on the mainland.

Technically, Venice encompasses around 160 square miles, however the majority of that area is comprised of the lagoon. 

The real city of Venice is located on a “island,” which is actually comprised of a number of smaller islands, canals, and bridges. 

This “island” is linked to the mainland (known as Mestre) by a causeway that is approximately 2.5 miles in length.

It’s possible that you’ll be tempted to stay in Mestre because hotels there are more affordable there, but if you can swing it, I’d advise shelling out a little more money to be able to stay in the historic centre instead. 

When we went to Venice for the first time, we stayed on the mainland and took the water taxi to the main island every day.

 It is certainly feasible to accomplish this goal by taking a bus, a cab, a rail, or a water taxi; but, doing so requires additional time and money.

9.Pay a visit at the off-peak times.

The “off-season” in Venice is getting shorter and shorter with each passing year, although it still takes place between November and March, when the weather is typically cooler and wetter (and more prone to flooding due to high tides).

The months of October and November, as well as March and April, are considered to be the shoulder season. 

These months are often going to be a bit less hectic, but they are still going to have weather that is very favourable.

10. Get up early and go out late-Walk a lot

The cruise season in Venice appears to extend each year (which results in the off-season lasting a shorter amount of time), but the high season doesn’t begin in earnest until 

April and continues all the way through October. There is a good chance that cruise ships will be docked in Venice during the period that you are there.

If you want to avoid the worst of the crowds, you should check to see which days ships will be in port, and then avoid the touristy spots (like Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge) between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on those days. 

Checking this information will help you avoid the worst of the crowds. Those are going to be the busiest times of the day in the city.

To maximise your time spent at popular destinations, try going there early in the morning or late at night. 

It was an amazing trip, and the experience was totally unique compared to going to those famous sights during the daytime.
