Maserati Levante is a luxurious SUV that can provide a great driving experience and comfort on road trips.

However, like any LUXE car, it may have some issues that can ruin your road trip if not addressed. Here are some common problems that you may encounter with Maserati Levante:

  1. Electrical issues: Some owners have reported problems with the electrical system, such as intermittent issues with the touchscreen or dashboard displays.
  2. Suspension issues: Some owners have reported issues with the air suspension system, which can result in a bumpy or uncomfortable ride.
  3. Transmission problems: Some owners have reported issues with the transmission, such as hesitation or rough shifting.
  4. Brake problems: Some owners have reported issues with the brakes, such as premature wear or grinding noises.
  5. Engine problems: Some owners have reported issues with the engine, such as misfires or stalling.

If you experience any of these problems while on a road trip, it can be frustrating and ruin the experience.

The issues-Maserati Levante

The 2019 Maserati Levante is a popular choice among luxury SUV buyers.

Although the automaker boasts that it has a “adventurous character,” owners are finding it difficult to enjoy this vehicle.

According to reports, the electrical system and service brakes are malfunctioning.

Problems with the Electrical System

The electrical system should be more than adequate to run everything in the vehicle smoothly as a luxury model, but it isn’t.

Here’s a complaint from the National Highway Traffic Safety

Administration that’s worth reading. “My current vehicle is still being worked on at the dealership for the initial and previous concerns that have not been resolved. I had to bring my loaner vehicle, which was the same make, model, and year as my own vehicle, because it had comparable difficulties.

Aside from the electrical system, there’s also an external lighting recall, demonstrating how little Maserati cares about the vehicle’s structure.

According to NHTSA Campaign Number 19V521000, certain vehicles have misaligned headlights that can reduce visibility.

As a high-end luxury vehicle, there are far too many flaws that endanger families.

No one wants to be known for their “adventurous attitude.”

Tired of the same SUVs? Then choose a Maserati. It's distinct from BMW X5s and Audi Q7s, like the Alfa Stelvio. Maserati's emblem makes it seem unique. When you park, people will ask you about it.

Overall verdict:

A couple of years have passed since Maserati introduced the Levante, its first large, luxurious SUV. It is now something we anticipate from even the most blatantly sporty automobile brands, including Porsche, Alfa Romeo, and Aston Martin. The Levante became Maserati's best-selling vehicle by a considerable margin.

  • Great handling for a huge SUV.
  • Superior V6 gasoline engines manufactured by Ferrari
  • versatile trunk and enough internal space.

  • The interior lacks the innovative design of competitors.
  • Brakes need more bite.
  • A cumbersome gear lever rapidly becomes irritating to operate.

Problems with the Brakes and Build Quality

When it comes to safety, it’s crucial to consider the service brakes. The Levante appears to be having trouble with its braking system.

“The Check Engine Light illuminates, and the entire instrument cluster becomes chaotic,” according to another NHTSA report.

The vehicle then loses power steering, engine control, air bag failure, the brakes reset, and the vehicle tries to engage the EM brake at slow speeds, causing the vehicle to jerk and stop while moving.

This has been frightening when it has happened on the highway and almost caused an accident coming out of a parking lot.

Other difficulties include the fact that my automated lights and windshield wipers no longer work, preventing me from driving in the rain.

My scheduled service is July 15 (called June 23rd), but no feeling of urgency has been conveyed in the description of the concerns.Once again, there is confirmation that Maserati did a poor job of building this vehicle.

According to Service Bulletin #MAS001850, there are issues with water intrusion that need technicians sealing the body.

This isn’t the kind of adventure that anyone wants to go on, especially in such a pricey vehicle.

Instead, if a consumer wants to enjoy the water, they would purchase a boat.

Is Maserati ownership really that expensive?

Is Maserati ownership *really* that expensive?

I Purchased new, these cars are between 120-170K (depending on your location, trim, and model selection).

Is a 3K-7K repair bill commensurate with the  Maserati?

The way I see it, these cars are built for people making 6-7 figure salaries.

Take a look at any review, and the first thing talked about is the high price, and the “exclusive” market segment – the reality is, a 2005 QP/GT with some miles is cheaper than a well-optioned new Honda Accord.

So, given that a Maserati can be bought used for less than a new Honda Accord, are the fears/complaints about high maintenance costs well-founded?

I would say, yes, Maserati ownership is very expensive in terms of real dollars.

It May not that far off compared to other car brands that produce similar cars (BMW, MBZ, Porsche).

Of course, the cost of ownership is not limited to repairs and also includes depreciation, maintenance, and consumables

Tips to consider before buying a Maserati

If you’re considering buying a Maserati, new or used, then you already know that they aren’t cheap and they’re not easy on gas – but that’s not why you’re buying it.

You buy Maserati because they are interesting, exclusive, beautiful and great performers.

I drove the Granturismo for 8 years and about 50K kilometres with no issues outside of normal maintenance.

During that time, it put a smile on my face every time I fired it up. That’s why you buy an exotic car.

If you’re looking for an economical daily driver to run errands and haul cargo, then neither the Maserati nor any other sports car is a good choice.

But if you want something special that you won’t see everyone else in, it’s a pretty darn good choice.

Examine the need for maintenance.

A Maserati is similar to any other automobile in that it requires regular maintenance.

Having said that, the maintenance for this sort of premium performance vehicle is not the same as the upkeep for a Toyota or a budget vehicle.

If you ever find yourself in the position of having to replace components or materials, you will not settle for anything less than superior quality.

A Maserati deserves to be treated like a king.

Keeping on top of your Maserati’s maintenance requirements will pay dividends in the long run.

Nonetheless, it is critical to thoroughly study the maintenance needs of any model you are considering.

This will assist you in determining which option is most appropriate for your budget.

When acquiring a car, it is always important to factor in long-term expenditures.

In addition, it’s worth mentioning that some people may just be unwilling to conduct regular maintenance on a car that requires more attention.

Even if they have the financial means to maintain a specific model, they may not desire to do so owing to the time and work it would take.

This is also something to bear in mind when you investigate your alternatives further.

What is more important to you: a classic pre-owned Maserati that, owing to its age, may require more regular maintenance, or a new car with zero miles on it and, thus, less upkeep requirements?

Consult with the dealer on this subject to ensure that you are fully aware of the level of maintenance required by each particular model.

Examine the available options, both new and pre-owned.

You shouldn’t restrict yourself to simply examining new Maserati automobiles or only pre-owned Maserati vehicles unless you know exactly which model you’re interested in.

It is preferable to conduct preliminary study on both possibilities early in the process.

There are a number of reasons why you should look at both new and pre-owned automobiles when purchasing your first Maserati automobile.

Obviously, if you have a restricted budget, purchasing a pre-owned automobile may be a more cost-effective alternative than purchasing a new one.

However, this does not rule out the possibility of saving money as a primary motivation for purchasing a pre-owned Maserati.

For example, the 2005 Quattroporte is one of the most popular pre-owned Maserati models, with some customers becoming emotionally connected to certain model years.

You may also have to purchase a pre-owned vehicle if Maserati no longer makes the model you’re interested in if the company no longer manufactures the model you’d like.

When acquiring your Maserati, it is beneficial to look at both new and pre-owned automobiles to have a better understanding of your possibilities.

The more research you conduct, the more likely it is that you will discover what you are searching for in a Maserati

Determine Your Requirements

This point is related to the previous one. Identifying your primary motivation for purchasing a Maserati is an excellent first step in determining the best model to suit your needs.

Some of your justifications may be self-evident. Maserati regularly delivers vehicles that are both visually stunning and perform above and beyond expectations.

The driving experience is outstanding, providing thrills, speed, and power at every turn.

It’s simple to see why any driver would want to possess one of these vehicles.

Some folks, on the other hand, do not intend to drive their Maserati on a regular basis.

They could think of it as a weekend car, the type of vehicle they can take out for a spin when they don’t have someplace specific to go or go anywhere with.

Such a person may be content with a Maserati that is little older.

Because they would subject the vehicle to less wear and tear, they anticipate that they will be able to keep the vehicle’s upkeep expenditures to a bare minimum.

The demographics of buyers of the 2020 Levante, as well as what they enjoy and don’t like about their cars, are important to know before we get into the specifics of our review.

This sector has 63 percent male owners (compared to 60 percent for the whole vehicle industry), and the typical age of an owner is 56 years old, according to J.D. Power statistics (matching the market)( Source)

The outside style, driving feel, sensation of safety, interior design, and driving comfort in a tie with the engine are the most popular features of upper midsize luxury SUVs, according to owners.

The following are the most important aspects of the car in relation to the rest of the automotive market:

  • Protection for your vehicle
  • An engine’s/power motor’s
  • The exterior design
  • The ease with which the engine/motor performs
  • Comfiness of the vehicle’s cockpit

Setting up and starting the car, getting in and out, the entertainment system, and fuel efficiency are among the things owners dislike most about this model.

In terms of the whole automotive market, these five aspects of the car rank the lowest:

  • Range/economy of operation
  • Accessing and exiting the third-row seats
  • Using voice commands to control the car remotely.
  • Using a compass

Consumption of Energy

According to the EPA, the Levante Trofeo can obtain 14 mpg in the city, 18 mpg on the highway, and 15 mpg in mixed driving.

Levante Trofeo can go 350 miles on a 21.1-gallon tank, according to my real-world test results.

Consider stopping at a petrol station every 300 miles or so, or even more often if you regularly delve into the SUV’s bottomless well of power.

Comfiness on the Road

To deal with the big 22-inch wheels and performance tyres’ ferocious grip, the Levante’s front sport seats need adjustable bolsters, despite their substantial bolstering.

Otherwise, both the front and back seats in the Levante are comfy, and the Maserati Touch Control infotainment system allows you to set up automated seat heating and ventilation.

Seat massagers aren’t accessible for anyone who shell out this much money, so they’ll have to settle for something else.

The legroom in the backseat is decent, but the foot space is excellent.

My shins were sometimes irritated by the rough lower sea tback material.

The seat provides excellent thigh support and a proper angle of recline for the seat back. Passengers will be delighted thanks to air conditioning vents and motorised rear window blinds.

The Levante Trofeo has a noticeable amount of road noise in the interior because of its large wheels and tyres.

There is still more of it than one would anticipate for the price.
