Taking the train is both one of the most convenient and cost-effective ways to reach your destination of Versailles. The name of this train is the RER.

The RER is a specific type of public transportation that serves the city of Paris and its surroundings. You may get at the Palace of Versailles in a matter of minutes by using the RER C train

Depending on where you start, the journey to the castle will typically take between an hour and an hour and a half of your time.

The first thing that you need to do is make your way to the metro or rail station that is located the closest to where you currently are.

You may accomplish it with the help of Google Maps. When you have determined the station’s name, the next step is to determine whether or not the RER C stops there.

If this is the case, you may immediately hop on the RER C, but before you do so, double check that you are boarding the appropriate train—that is, the one that travels to Versailles (Versailles chateau – Rive gauche).

It’s possible that you’ll have to make a train switch depending on where you catch the RER C.

After purchasing two tickets from the metro station that are valid for both the metro and the RER (a round trip from Paris to Versailles will cost you approximately 7 euros), you will need to find the metro station where you’ll have to stop in order to take the RER C.

As was previously mentioned, you will then need to board the appropriate RER train, i.e. the one that will take you to Versailles. If the closest metro station isn’t served by the RER C, you will need to take the following steps

After you have arrived at your location, you will need to walk for around ten minutes in order to reach the Palace of Versailles.

Because there are signs to follow that will lead you to Versailles, finding your way there is not difficult at all.

You have the option of booking a combination trip with Paris City Vision, which will provide you with RER train transportation as well as a guided tour of the Palace of Versailles with priority admission.

Use any of  Tours That Let You Bypass the Lines at Versailles

You have another option available to you that is far less difficult to navigate in the event that you find the RER lines to be overly cumbersome.

Some tours of the Palace of Versailes provide priority access to the enormous structure, making them the ideal choice for those who wish to make the most of their time in this enchanted and lavish location.

Because we give you with a guided tour, you will have the opportunity to become fully immersed in the history of this Palace, which is one of the many beneficial choices included in our excursions.

You won’t have to wait in line, so you won’t have to worry about being bored while you’re standing about. You’ll have plenty of time to leisurely explore this architectural marvel, including the beautiful gardens built by André Lenôtre and the Hall of Mirrors.

We have the proper offerings to please you whenever you want to visit the castle and for whatever long you want to spend there, so feel free to choose whichever option best suits your needs.

Don’t Forget to Take Out Travel Insurance.

Travel insurance will protect you against a variety of risks, including illness, accident, theft, and cancellations of plans. It provides full protection in the event that something goes wrong. Given that I’ve had to use it on several occasions in the past, I never travel without it.

I did my family travel Insurance with Allianz , make sure that it is comprehensive and also check if they have covid cancellation cover as well.
