Are you making a list of everything you’ll need before moving into your first apartment?

It can be challenging to remember everything because there are so many things to take into consideration. Everything from mattresses to cleaning supplies to kitchen equipment may be rather intimidating.

I’ve been helping my friend make lists of everything they needed to acquire for her first apartment because I’m a list maker to the extreme.

To make sure you have everything you need, I created a printed version of this extensive first apartment checklist.

You DON’T have to buy everything (I didn’t because it’s pricey!). However, keeping a list that you can refer to later makes life a lot simpler.

The finest first apartment checklist is the focus of this article.

FIRST APARTMENT CHECKLIST:
WHAT YOU SHOULD BUY FOR YOUR KITCHEN

Your apartment’s kitchen is the room in which you are most likely to find yourself needing to make the most purchases.

I did a lot of shopping in this area and purchased a number of “starter packs” for things like my pots and pans, plates, bowls, and cups, as well as utensils.

I discovered that the greatest prices for all of the stuff could be obtained at Amazon and Target.

1. Pots & Pans

A kitchen cannot function without pots and pans, and they are an investment that will unquestionably pay off in the long run.

You really ought to acquire yourself a cookie sheet, a frying pan, and a few pots at the very least. That ought to provide you with a sufficient amount of variety to enable you to prepare a variety of meals.

2.Dishes & Bowls

Amazon.com is where I purchased all of my individual plates and bowls. They have a sale once in a while in which all of the cookware is discounted by fifteen dollars, so I bought them during one of those sales.
The fact that mine came in a set that included dishes, bowls, and cups was ideal for me because it contained everything that I required inside itself.
In addition, Ikea.com is an excellent spot to shop for a new dinnerware set, including plates, bowls, and cups.

3. Kitchen Gadgets

Since I make regular use of a microwave, I can say with absolute certainty that it is an appliance that you will want to invest in if it is not already included in your apartment.

Always make sure you check to see what kinds of appliances will already be in the apartment as well as what kinds of appliances you are responsible for bringing.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BUY FOR YOUR LIVING ROOM

1. Couches & Armchairs

It’s not cheap to buy a sofa. Another thing that really got under my skin when I was out shopping was how ridiculously costly couches can be.

I literally looked for my couch for months before I found it at Houzz.com—it was the one I had been looking for the whole time. You should probably check it out for yourself because there are locations all around the United States. I spent $1,100 on it, and it’s a LARGE sofa ..

Look for it in stores during weekend deals!! If my recollection serves me well, I paid less than $300 for the television I purchased on Black Friday.

Even though it is only the Supersonic brand, it functions perfectly for me, and I would never be able to tell the difference between it and television that costs more than $1,000.

4. TV Stand

Don’t overlook the necessity of a TV stand! Due to the fact that my home has a fireplace, I totally forgot that I would need one of those wall brackets in order to mount my television on the wall.

It ultimately cost more than seventy dollars, which was not something I required on the weekend that I moved in haha.

You may also get several console tables that are not only inexpensive but also incredibly cute in other areas.

5.Apartment Living room decor

Wow, Our favourite part!! Seriously, I would fall asleep at night thinking about how I was going to decorate my apartment. I know, I’m really that crazy LOL

Here are the decorations you’re going to want to consider:

WHAT YOU SHOULD BUY FOR YOUR BEDROOM

Look up “Queen upholstered bed” on the internet if you want a bed like the one I have, or just click this link to go to Macy’s and get the same link there. The price of beds is ridiculously high, but this particular bed was by far the most affordable option.

If you want to spend even less money, you can just acquire a headboard and then a bed frame base for the bottom of it. This option is available to you.

FIRST APARTMENT CHECKLIST- Buying Guide

Find links to the many things you want, and shop for them during their respective sales.

This turned out to be one of the best things I could have done for myself. Due to the fact that I made this list so far in advance, I was able to purchase a significant quantity of the items during significant sales events such as Black Friday and New Year’s Eve deals.

Because of this, I avoided losing dozens upon dozens of dollars.

Explore your options!!

It blew my mind to see how many different internet businesses sell the exact same things but at wildly varying costs for those products. Wayfair was able to offer me a better deal on my coffee table by $100 compared to another online retailer.

I purchased the vast majority of the items in my apartment from online retailers including Amazon, Target, Wayfair, Walmart, and Home Goods.

Make an effort to obtain previously owned furniture from your parents or other relatives.

I have to tell you, one of the most important things that I have realised is how pricey everything is! It’s really bonkers, that’s for sure.

You can save a significant amount of money by making use of furnishings that other members of your family no longer want.
